SAVANNAH, Ga. (Nov. 18, 2022) – Gail Eubanks, executive director for institutional advancement and communications at Savannah Technical College, received the award for Lifetime Achievement at the 2022 GEAC Conference in Savannah, Georgia.

During more than two decades at Savannah Tech and more than 35 years in higher education, Eubanks built a record of leadership in fundraising, marketing and communications. Soon after becoming executive director, she led the college’s first major gifts campaign, which raised more than $7.2 million over five years.

Eubanks also developed the college’s employee-giving campaign, Helping Everyone Realize Opportunity (HERO), to support faculty and staff scholarships. Employee participation grew from less than 1% before the campaign to an average of more than 72% annually, reaching 92% in 2019. The initiative received national recognition for its fundraising, marketing and design practices.

During her tenure with the Savannah Technical College Foundation from 2011 to 2022, the Foundation awarded more than $5 million in scholarships and program support, raised an average of $608,000 annually and more than doubled its net assets between its lowest level in 2011 and its highest in 2018. The Foundation also earned the Technical College System of Georgia’s Role Model Board distinction for seven consecutive years.

“Gail’s marketing, communications, and advancement work has received national recognition annually for the past 20 years at our College alone,” said Savannah Tech President Dr. Kathy Love, who introduced Eubanks for the award. “She manages volunteers and her staff with ease, professionalism, and respect. Her advancement leadership has set records at our college for funds raised to support scholarships and programs.”

The award recognizes Eubanks’ longstanding contributions to higher education advancement, her leadership in securing philanthropic support and her impact on Savannah Technical College and its students.
