SAVANNAH, Ga. (Nov. 18, 2022) – Amy Hancock, assistant director of marketing and communications at South Georgia State College, received the award for Excellence in Marketing and Communications at the 2022 GEAC Conference in Savannah, Georgia.
Hancock has worked in continuing education, advancement and marketing and communications at SGSC, with responsibilities extending into enrollment management, admissions and recruitment. Her work includes developing printed recruitment materials, creating social media content and managing the college’s official social media channels.
Hancock also led the college’s website redesign, which launched in July 2022. Working with website vendor Third Wave Digital, she helped develop a site focused on improving the visitor experience and making information more accessible to students, employees and community members. The redesigned site introduced dedicated student and faculty and staff gateways, allowing users to access commonly used resources more easily.
Early analytics showed a 34% increase in page views and a 36% decrease in the bounce rate following the redesign, indicating that visitors were exploring more of the website rather than leaving after viewing a single page.
The award recognizes Hancock’s contributions to marketing and communications at SGSC, including her leadership in strengthening the college’s digital presence and improving how the institution connects with its audiences.
